The Christian Life Academy in Hopedale has officially started construction for the new addition to the school. This building will serve as a high school classroom building for CLA and will open up more opportunities for their students in the years to come. The goal for the construction is to get the exterior and a portion of the interior finished over the summer so high school students can use the new space for the 2022-2023 school year.
In order to construct the new high school building, CLA had to put together fundraisers. They hosted events like a Golf Outing at the North Greens Golf Course in Atlanta and a Bike-a-thon held at Westside Park in Minier as well as accepted donations from the community to raise the money. In late February they got an anonymous donor to agree to match all gifts towards their building fund up to $25,000 from mid-January to March 1st. Through the community coming together and getting the funds together for the expansion, CLA was able to get construction up and running.
Construction began in late April with the foundation being poured and has continued with the framework and rafters going up just recently. As construction continues CLA is looking for volunteers to help out. If you are interested in helping out look out for info from Mr. Horning, the principal at CLA, on Facebook or reach out to offer your help via email at jhorning@clacademy.org. Not only do they need volunteers, but while the funding is somewhere over $230,000 raised they still anticipate needing $130,000-$150,000 more in order to finish the project. If you have the means to help out with fundraising, can ask friends and family, or can donate yourself it would help the school finish the expansion.
